Alberta is changing, with rapid urban growth and rising expectations for instantaneous information, government efficiency, and multi-sector collaboration. New technologies and ideas can support the innovation required as municipalities seek to foster clean, efficient, and prosperous 21st century communities.
The Alberta Smart City Symposium, building off a tremendously successful launch in 2014 and multiple other events in 2015, seeks to respond to this need by bringing together different industries, academic institutions, and areas of government. The Symposium will focus on the gap between ideas and implementation, with an emphasis on the important topics of data and service innovation, infrastructure management, and specific applications. In doing so, the Symposium will feature presentations from industry leaders, invigorating panel discussions, best practice and solution reviews, and an exhibition area to feature Smart technologies and group networking.
